Adam Cohen is a partner in the firm and chairs the firm's
Intellectual Property practice group. Mr. Cohen regularly
represents clients with respect to all aspects of intellectual
property law (trademark, copyright, trade secret, patent licensing
and litigation, publicity and privacy rights) in a variety
of industry sectors including publishing, art, media and entertainment,
apparel and footwear, new media and Internet, toys, restaurants
and food, consumer products, law enforcement and military
products, advertising, public relations, luxury goods, software
and technology and sports. Among other things, Mr. Cohen is
involved in the procurement, protection and conveyance of
intellectual property through licensing, acquisition and sale,
joint ventures, franchising, assignments and other intellectual
property transactions, general intellectual property counseling,
the prosecution of trademark and copyright registration applications,
intellectual property litigation before the federal and state
trial and appellate courts, the U.S. Patent and Trademark
Office and various arbitration associations, the rendering
of formal legal opinions and general commercial counseling.
Mr. Cohen is a graduate of Brown University (B.A. 1984) and
Northwestern University School of Law (J.D. 1988). He is admitted
to practice in the State of New York as well before the United
States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the United
States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts
of New York. He is a member of the art law committee of the
Association of the Bar of the City of New York and the International
Trademark Association. He is currently on the board of directors
and an officer of Franklin Furnace Archive, Inc. a not-for-profit
arts organization. Prior to law school, Mr. Cohen worked as
a magazine editor and freelance writer.
