COUNSEL
Paul Szabo is counsel to the Firm and is part of the Firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group, specializing in Patent Law.
Mr. Szabo is a graduate of St. John’s College (B.A. 1974, Physics) and the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law (J.D., 1978). As a registered patent attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, he has been practicing patent law for more than twenty-five years. Mr.. Szabo is admitted to practice in the State of Ohio, before the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Mr. Szabo has extensive experience in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in the mechanical and electrical arts, including substantial work in medical devices, automotive equipment, consumer products, toys and apparel. He has also written many opinions relating to patentability, validity, and infringement issues and has counseled clients with regard to strategic patenting of their products and designs. Mr. Szabo has also handled trademark matters and has extensively been involved in client portfolio management. He is experienced in international patent prosecution and international intellectual property protection as well.
